Terms and Conditions Refund Policy

All Coastal Web Marketing sales are final unless otherwise noted.

 

ABOUT CANCELLATIONS:

You may cancel SEO, web design services, web video or hourly services, within 3 days of your signed contract. After 3 days we consider your project has begun.

We don’t pro-rate our services. Payments are due on the first day of each month, in advance of service. Credit cards are now required on all SEO sales, web design sales, etc., unless the full contract amount is paid in advance. The full contract amount can be paid with a check or credit card.

You may request to cancel of electronic purchases (such as SEO tools or website tools) and other select services such as video production, and we will determine if the order can be canceled or not. Generally, we are working with third-party vendors or suppliers, and they will have to make a determination on their part as well. If physical production has already started, we can cancel the order, but we won’t be able to issue you a refund or credit.

We may cancel or void payments if service on your order has not yet begun.

ABOUT REFUNDS – NO REFUNDS

Once we start creative service or time on your project, website design, SEO, content writing, etc., we don’t issue refunds no matter the reason. Payments must be made on time, otherwise all services will stop until all invoices are paid and up to date.

If you have signed up for our SEO program, we require a 1-year minimum term and your program automatically switches to a month to month plan after the initial term. We require 30 days written notice in an email or letter to our office requesting termination. At times we provide more hours in a month to help your business, than our agreement requires, so we would expect to recoup that in the upcoming 30-day cancellation period.

All of our web marketing services are rendered at the client’s risk. We offer no guarantees, no exchanges, no refunds, and no credits. Web hosting, domain purchases and renewals, original content and backups of their website are the responsibility of the customer.

Once you sign up to work with Coastal Web, we will collect information such as names, address, phone numbers, email addresses, credit card for payment and web hosting details. We will not submit this information to any other company. This information stays confidential with us. Your credit card is submitted to a major merchant account for processing but once it is submitted, they encrypt your information and it is then out of our control.

Coastal Web Marketing and its affiliates and vendors cannot and won’t be responsible or liable for your monetary investment or loss in any way.

We do not guarantee SEO or marketing results.

Google expressly forbids us from gauranteed ranking on search engine ranking pages. For more information, check out Google’s article on SEO companies, and why you should beware of any SEO company that says it can guarantee you the #1 ranking in search results.

And business experts agree that you should never make a business marketing decision based on a guarantee of results. In a nutshell, only scam SEO firms offer guarantees. These are the companies that send you unsolicited emails with things in ALL CAPS and lots of exclamation points. This article from Forbes really lays it out, particularly in item #5. ““Making Guarantees Regarding Something You Can’t Control Incurs Inherent Ethical Issues.” Search engines like Google control the search results, not us. So offering you guaranteed results would be unethical, and we are always above board in our business dealings.

While we strive to educate our clients about SEO and set clear goals and objectives, we will not offer any guarantee, because SEO is an art, rather than a science. Customers can see an increase in search engine rankings in 2-3 months but it can take 6-12 months to see a steady increase in rankings and web traffic. You must also realize that there may be a number of issues with your existing website that will affect or delay SEO results. These include:

  • You switch web hosting providers.
  • You change your web address.
  • You have duplicate websites.
  • Your website has duplicate pages.
  • You have duplicate content.
  • You have content that has been copied verbatim (scraped) from another site.
  • Your website redirects to another site.
  • You hire or previously hired a company to provide low quality links.
  • You used one or a combination of several black hat SEO techniques (whether you were aware of it or not)
  • Or you are on an OLS server or are using free web space to host your site.

If any of these apply to your existing website, then it may take longer than expected to see benefits from SEO, as we have to clean up the mess left behind by a previous company. We will not be held responsible for past work completed on your site or your url.

Terms and Conditions Refund Policy

While good SEO and other web marketing initiatives can certainly help you grow your business and attract new customers, we can’t guarantee you numbers, because there are several things we do not control. We can do a lot for you to increase your business visibility, web traffic and conversions, but there are things we can’t do, including:

  • We can’t force Google, Bing, Yahoo or other search engine companies to list your website in any position.
  • We can’t make people visit or stay on your website.
  • We can’t coerce them into accepting your special offer, call now, schedule a free estimate, sign up for your email list, or buy your products or services, even if they are interested in what you have to offer.
  • We can’t magically turn a website visitor into a paying customer, even if someone likes what they see.

Bottom line, we cannot control the search engines, and we cannot control consumer behavior.

Web Marketing and Starting or running a Business can be risky endeavors.

You took a risk when you went into business. While web marketing carries a risk, not utilizing the internet to promote your business and playing it safe, or not marketing at all is risking stagnation. It helps if you look at web marketing as an investment that will have varying returns.

Our advice: Don’t hire an SEO company or web design company if you cannot  afford their services, and/or cannot recover from the loss of funds if you fail to meet your expected return on investment within a specified timeframe.

While Coastal Web Marketing accepts credit card for payments, we strongly advise you not to go into debt in the hopes that web marketing will jumpstart, or save your business. Web marketing should only be a supplement your other marketing methods.

Exceptions:

We reserve the right for Coastal Web Marketing management to make exceptions and issue refunds or credits at our sole discretion.

Effective Date and Changes:

We reserve the right to change the terms of this policy at any time at our sole discretion, by posting the changes on this page. YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THIS WEBSITE AND OUR SERVICES FOLLOWING OUR POSTING OF A CHANGE OF NOTICE WILL CONSTITUTE YOUR BINDING ACCEPTANCE OF THOSE CHANGES.
